The clear water of the Abe River and the tributary Warashina River is running through the
City of Shizuoka with the view of Mt. Fuji in the East, and the mountains along these
rivers have been well known as the producing district of excellent tea from the old
times.

In Edo Era (about 17-19th Centuries), the tea produced in this district was designated as
the Shogun (General) Household Tea, and also introduced as “Abe Tea” in the books in
these days. Now in the beginning of the 21st Century, the tea has been improved by many
tea-making craftspeople and handed down through hundreds of years as the name of
“Hon-yama Tea.”

“Shizuoka Tea” occupies about a half of total tea production amount of Japan, and
among others, “Hon-yama Tea” is one of the most excellent brands with good reputation
among many tea-making craftspeople because of its unique flavor characterized as “the
tea of the mountains.”

Our Company, Sato Tea Production is located in “O-hara Countryside,” the upper stream
of the Warashina River, the tributary of the Abe River.

The tea farmer growing the tea leaves of Hon-yama Tea in this countryside was the first
step of Sato Tea Production.

We built our own tea production factory, delicately make up the green tea “sencha” by
original handwork, and started the direct delivery system of the tea to the customers.
They are all because of our simple wish that you may fully enjoy the flavor and taste of
our tea brought up with affection.

The enthusiasm for producing good tea is reflected in every process of our integrated tea
production comprising the growing, preparing, making up and selling.

Our wish is simple. We wish to deliver the really tasty tea to you directly from the
farm.
